Hey everybody!
How are you? It’s been quite a while, so long that many of you are maybe wondering: “what in the world has Jon been up to…? Is he still alive? Does he stil play music? The answer is: yes, only with a different focus (which I’ll tell you about below). But as proof of my liveliness, I’d like to invite you to my next show at the renown Upstairs Jazz Bar in Montreal on Wednesday October 12. I’ll be playing 3 sets of my music and covers with a Jazzy base of musicians from Université de Montréal à Québec including: upright bass, drums, me on a baby grand piano & guitar, a horn section and 5 of my singing students as guest artists… So yeah, it’s a pretty big show! The food at Upstairs is also really good, so please come early to have supper and say hi in this gem of a venue!

What I’ve been up to over the last couple of years…?
Well… I’ve been teaching singing like a mad dog at Université de Québec à Montreal and doing numerous concerts with Karen Young & Coral Egan – including one with them at the Jazz fest last summer which was really great 🙂 I’ve also been performing with the MSO choir and writing new music over the summer. Teaching has been my primary occupation over the last couple of years, and for the first time, I will try to combine my teaching and my performing into one presentation at this Upstairs Jazz Bar show. I’m looking forward to showing off my incredible students to you as well as show you some of my new music.
Hope to see you there!
Jon
